thoughts from the week

from the week of 9 February 2026

An interesting thought I had one day:

All you need to do for work is just to execute 1 power move per day.

This is either a move that gives you a clear significant advantage or helps you remove a clear significant disadvantage. That’s all you really need to do on each day that you work— Just execute 1 power move a day.

A realisation I had:

The bright-line I must not cross is the line between a clean conscience and a conscience with a single spot.

*

The most capable person in the room is probably not the most intelligent, outspoken or charismatic individual.

Instead, the person who is the most capable is the person who is most open to asking for help, listening to feedback, and working conscientiously to improve.

One believes they’re the king (or queen) of the hill. The other knows that their power has no bounds, and will eclipse even the hills in time.

The decline in biodiversity and nature’s contributions to people has become a critical systemic risk threatening the economy, financial stability and human wellbeing with implications for human rights.

What is meant for you doesn’t require your worry or fear to materialize. It will arrive naturally. It will come in perfect time, and it will stay, because you made space for it by patiently doing inner work.

The calmest person in the room always wins.

Practices, philosophies and frameworks I’ve found useful for love, work and life in general:

*

In general, technological progression increases the leverage (a.k.a. “efficiency”) of systems that adopt them.

In other words, tech lets you get a bigger bang for your buck.

*

Be a lamp for your own feet.

Be a spring for your own stream.

Be your own home.

Be your own medicine.

Be your own peace.
